Once again I find myself with December approaching fast ... but I'm ready for it (well the beginning of it anyway!)
As many of you will know, the Timeline Advent Calendar has traditionally (after four years, I think I can start to claim a tradition!) sought to capture some of the past year's Meady memories, but this year I have cast the net further afield and asked Lee's fans to vote for their favourite moments from the last four and a half years.
Over forty such favourites were nominated, and there were clear 'leaders' amongst them, but you'll have to wait to find out what they were. But with only twenty-five days to fill and many entries sharing the same number of votes, my plan to make you do the hard work of selecting this year's content back-fired somewhat. The trawl through all those wonderful memories has been time-consuming but far from arduous!
Alongside, I am launching the Timeline's 2011 Advent Appeal and my chosen charity this year is RNIB - a charity that is close to my heart as my Dad is one of the many older people who suffers with Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), an incurable condition which affects the central vision. Thankfully it does not lead to total sight loss but does make life more challenging for sufferers, at a time in their lives when challenges can be abundant.
RNIB supports nearly two million people with sight loss, with information, support and advice and I hope you will support RNIB with the same generosity you have shown to the Timeline's past appeals which have raised nearly £3,500 for Children in Need, Help for Heroes and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
To donate, simply go to the Timeline's 2011 Advent Appeal JustGiving page.
The Advent Calendar will open for business on 1 December, but the JustGiving page is up and running now!
