Stage Door

I have decided to remove the photos from this section, and will eventually delete the page itself, but felt I should first offer an explanation for my decision.

We became used to an unprecedented degree of access for photo-taking during Lee’s run in Joseph thanks to ‘the scrum’, which has perhaps clouded some people’s vision as to what is acceptable at the Stage Door.

The scrum, despite its name, was a controlled environment – the Stage Door is not, except to the extent that Lee himself seeks to control it. If time permits, he seems happy for fans to have their picture taken with him but he has made it clear on several occasions in the early stages of this tour that he does not wish people to take posed photos of him alone.

He has not, to my knowledge, commented about people taking unposed photos of him as he signs and chats to the fans - exactly the type of photos previously posted here - but my own feeling is that he is not entirely comfortable with that either.

I am also aware that, while the photos taken here have mostly been taken from a distance and cropped, they often appear to have been taken from close quarters.

So whether or not Lee is happy with this practice, the fact remains that if ‘regulars’ are seen to be taking photos, and if photos are displayed here which have apparently been taken from close quarters, there will be people who think it is OK to hold a camera a foot from his face and snap away.

There will of course be some people who think that anyway, but I will not encourage them in their bad manners!

I’m sure others will disagree, which they are of course entitled to do, but on my own website I can only be guided by my own feelings on the matter.
