BBC local radio .. 17 February 2016
Lee Mead new album, February 2016 It sounds as though Lee had a busy day at BBC Broadcasting House today talking 'down the phone' to local radio stations around the country. In addition to the two chats below which went out live - the first with Ross Dickinson for BBC York, the second with Nick Piercey for BBC Oxford - I've seen tweets referring to at least five more interviews we've yet to hear (and since tracked down the one with Caz Perry for BBC Solent - see below). Keep your ears open! As he tweeted later, he also bumped into Michael Ball while he was there and got some tips on Chitty and flying cars!

Lee was in talkative mood and besides talking his new album (out 26 Feb but available to pre-order now) and the associated tour, his time on Casualty, his return to the stage this summer in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and a look back to how it all started on Any Dream Will Do, there were many other exciting snippets... including, much to my delight, the likelihood of another London Christmas gig to round off the year and looking further ahead, plans for celebrating the 10th anniversary of Any Dream Will Do next year including talks about a possible TV special!

There was airplay too... the whimsical "I'll See You In My Dreams" on BBC York - played twice no less - and a first hearing (ever, as it's the only album track Lee has yet to perform in concert) for "By Myself" on BBC Oxford. You can hear a little of both tracks (all on BBC RadioPlayer while available), and all of the chat, below.

BBC Radio York - Ross Dickinson
LISTEN AGAIN (available until 18 March, starts 2h 16:20) or below

BBC Radio Solent - Caz Perry
LISTEN AGAIN (available until 18 March, starts 2h 34:40) or below

BBC Radio Oxford - Nick Piercey
LISTEN AGAIN (available until 18 March, starts 2h 7:18) or below

And finally, I don't know where or when this was broadcast on radio, but I know it took place on this day thanks to a tweet from the interviewer, Rob Underwood, and it has now popped up on Soundcloud, so I'm including it here (interesting detail about auditioning for Miss Saigon and choosing Casualty):
