Lee plays only a small part in this exciting new London production of Thrill Me: The Leopold and Loeb Story at the Tristan Bates Theatre, Covent Garden from 5 to 30 April 2011.
He was very happy to be involved though, tweeting after the recording session: "@ThrillMe2011 It was great working with you guys yesterday. - Very quick! But great. - Lovely team, I can't wait to see it."
The musical has just two cast members, but three pre-recorded 'voiceovers' are used to provide context ... two parole board members - Lee and Patricia Quinn, and a radio announcer - Les Dennis.
Directed by Guy Rettalack with book, music and lyrics by Stephen Dolginoff, the roles of Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb, the infamous 'Thrill Killers' from 1920's Chicago, are superby played by Jye Frasca and George Maguire, the solo piano of Musical Director, David Keefe, providing the only accompaniment to the intense and truly chilling performances.
