Very exciting news today as it was announced that Lee Mead and his great friend, Stephen Rahman Hughes, have joined forces to put together a new show, with three dates in Autumn 2015 to be announced soon. UPDATE: The first has now been announced.
Having enjoyed immensely these two superbly talented men performing at each other's solo gigs over the past couple of years, I am absolutely delighted they are taking the collaboration one step further.
A new Facebook page has been set up Steve and Lee - Both Sides Now where more information and show dates will be published in due course. It says this:
"a brand new show from two very talented musical theatre performers and singers [...] promises a night of music from many great artists who have influenced the performers' love of music over the years. It's the music they grew up with - the music which has inspired them - as well as songs which have featured throughout their careers in the music business.
"It's not a show of West End classics which has been done so many times before. It's a show about two guys who are very best friends, who have both had amazing experiences throughout their extensive careers. They now come together to share their favourite music with you. Come on a musical ride of wonderful arrangements with elements of jazz, soul, pop and some other fantastic genres - the music of Stevie Wonder, Billie Holiday, Tony Bennett - with the guys' take on more current songs and artists too."
