S20-E44 : THE FAMILY YOU CHOOSEThe Autumn trailer naturally chose to include the most dramatic frames from the 'lift episode' but the reality was more a case of how to pass the time, than of any imminent danger. An unlikely trio, thrown together by circumstance, each with something to ponder - and now we know why Lofty disclosed such a personal dilemma to Leah last week, 'twas necessary set up for this week!
Next week there's Dom but no Lofty, so no early resolution of the 'baby issue' is on the cards ... but I rather like that, it's closer to reality than the instant fix that so often features in soapland. But I do think they missed a continuity trick in showing Lofty suffering a panic attack without even a passing reference to his unhappy history with lifts, albeit it during his tenure on Casualty!
Synopsis: After a problematic case forces him to lose his cool with Jason, Xavier learns to let his colleagues in. Jac and Fletch's awkwardness begins to affect the team, pushing the two to make a decision over where they stand with each other. And when Lofty, Meena and Leah get stuck in a lift they are forced to confront their problems head on.
