Lee was one of a host of stars to perform at a concert in Hyde Park to celebrate the 60th birthday of Andrew Lloyd Webber, which was recorded for later broadcast on BBC Radio 2's Friday Night is Music Night (aired 10 October 2008). At the height of his Joseph fame, he was clearly a star attraction and the only performer to sing four numbers to the hugely enthusiastic crowd - they were:
- Love Changes Everything
- All I Ask Of You (with Hayley Westenra)
- Close Every Door; and
- Any Dream Will Do.
The performers were backed by the wonderful BBC Concert Orchestra, under the musical direction of Mike Dixon, and the Capital Voices.
In addition to the numbers and performers listed in the programme (click thumbnail, right, for full programme), Ramin Karimloo and Gina Beck (the current Phantom and Christine) performed Phantom of the Opera, Shonagh Daly performed Buenos Aires from Evita and Edward Baruwa (Gary in Avenue Q) joined harmonia player Philip Achille performing Starlight Express.
