The weather gods were smiling despite the gloomy forecast, and the playing fields were full of pupils past and present, their families and friends, all celebrating the 1100th birthday of this fine old school. There were craft stalls and food tents, beer, Pimms and ice creams, fairground rides and a packed bill of musical entertainment with Lee one of the early highlights, so we found ourselves a place on the grass in front of the Festival Stage and enjoyed the sunshine a while.
Lee was introduced and the crowd applauded as a long stream of boys filtered onto the stage and took their places alongside the musicians - the choir and band from the school's summer term production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat! Lee followed them on, saying a few words to the assembled crowd before the familiar opening notes

I hope my photographs capture something of the atmosphere of a very happy and relaxed performance (click any below to access full GALLERY) - my compliments to the choir and band, and all who followed them later in the afternoon - the school has nurtured many talented musicians.
