In other business, the show was also counting down their listeners' 100 Greatest Irish Songs - asked straight off the block for his favourite Irish song, Lee opted for one we've heard him sing in concert (and on his fabulous 10 Year Anniversary album - With Or Without You - great choice!
They soon moved on to chat about the show - Lee giving some of its background before talk inevitably turned to the tightrope... the training, the technique, the split second decision he has to make whether to fight a wobble or bail out safely! I find the whole concept fascinating - it's such an extreme thing to learn for a role. Lee is clearly looking forward to their stop in Dublin - his first time there with a big show, though he did perform a one-off concert with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra back in 2011.
You can listen to the interview in full below. Lee continues as Barnum until 4 July (Matt Rawle takes over for the Autumn dates) - full dates and booking links for Lee's leg of the tour can be found here.
