After the last couple of years, when panto news has come late in the year, April's announcement that Lee would be heading north east to Hull for the 2023/24 season came as a delightful surprise. The panto this year is Cinderella - Lee's third time as the charming prince with a yen for fancy footwear - and it opens at Hull New Theatre on Saturday 16 December, running to Sunday 7 January 2024.
He will be starring alongside Neil Hurst (Buttons), returning for his fourth Hull New Theatre panto, with further casting to be announced.
Cinderella is produced by Crossroads Pantomimes (formerly QDOS), whose Chief Executive Michael Harrison said:
"I am so excited to have Lee and Neil with us in panto this year in Hull. Every year Lee is a hit with audiences up and down the country wherever he performs, and Neil never fails to make the Hull crowds laugh year on year with his Yorkshire charm. The two of them together on stage is a recipe for a magical Christmas indeed."
Meanwhile, Lee commented on his socials:
"I absolute love doing panto every year and proud to say this will be my eleventh consecutive year working for @XRoadsPantos and twenty years since I last played @NewTheatreHull. I can't wait to entertain the people of the North East this Christmas with what I have no doubt will be a cracking show and company."
Tickets are on sale now (see booking details below) with best availability mid-week and towards the end of the run.
