Returning from a year 'off' (in which he released a second album, got married, spent several months studying acting in New York and performed in several concerts), Lee opened in the title role of Oscar Wilde's 'Lord Arthur Savile's Crime' at Windsor's Theatre Royal on 12 January 2010 as it began its UK tour. (The production microsite mentioned in the picture (right) is now closed.)This Bill Kenwright production, adapted by Trevor Baxter and directed by Christopher Luscombe, marked Lee's eagerly awaited return to the stage and his debut in a straight acting role, playing alongside an all-star cast which included Gary Wilmot, Kate O'Mara, Derren Nesbit and David Ross.
As you can see from the reviews, while not universally acclaimed, Lee's debut was very well received by critics and audiences alike and marked a departure from musical theatre which I hope he has the opportunity to repeat, either on stage or on screen.
