In 2006, Lee secured his first West End role as Policemen in the Pit in the ensemble of Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre, where he also covered the role of Raoul.It was this role that he had to give up, part way through his 12-month contract, when he won through to the live shows of Any Dream Will Do. With a newly acquired mortgage and no certainty as to how far he would go in the competition, it was a brave but thankfully not a foolhardy decision.
