Returning to Aberdeen for the first time in over ten years, Lee will be playing (for the first time) the Prince in Snow White at Aberdeen Performing Arts' flagship venue, the c.1500 seat His Majesty's Theatre, described as an opulent, awe-inspiring Frank Matcham designed theatre with a breathtaking auditorium of which Billy Connolly said 'it's like playing a gig inside a wedding cake!'".
Lee will be joining Aberdeen panto favourites Alan McHugh as Nurse Nellie MacDuff and Jordan Young as Muddles, with Juliet Cadzow as the Wicked Queen and Jenna Innes as Snow White. Running from Saturday 1 December to Sunday 6 January, tickets are on sale now (see booking details below).
All involved in the production declared themselves delighted with the news...
- Lee: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining Alan and Jordan and all the team at the annual HMT Panto in Aberdeen this year. I'm really looking forward to coming to a Theatre that's renowned for having such fantastic audiences and a city that I'm very much looking forward to exploring over Christmas. I can't wait to get started."
- Aberdeen Performing Arts Chief Exec, Jane Spiers: "We are so excited to welcome Lee Mead to HMT this year for our wonderful pantomime, Snow White. Lee certainly fits the bill as a dashing prince – he will bring a wealth of experience and star quality to the stage and it will be a joy to see him alongside the much-loved comedy dream team of Jordan and Alan."
- QDOS Entertaintment MD, Michael Harrison: "We're thrilled to be bringing our sensational production of Snow White to Aberdeen and to combine the dazzling talents of Lee with the legendary comedy pairing of Alan and Jordan, a true Scottish double act."
