When news first broke in the early hours of 28 January that Lee was to return to the West End to play Fiyero in the hit show Wicked, it came straight out of left field! Once again Lee has done the unexpected but I'm sure the move will prove to be as successful as previous such decisions.My congratulations to Lee - I very much look forward to seeing him in the role.
It became 'official' later in the day and the announcement on the Wicked website confirmed that "subject to holidays and unforeseen circumstances, Lee Mead will play Fiyero from Monday 10 May 2010 until Saturday 5 February 2011."
Wicked has been playing at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, London since 2006.
