SERIES 28, EPISODE 40 - THE DYING GAMELofty's long-awaited return was low-key, but very welcome. He was involved on the periphery of a couple of storylines, including a scene with Preeya Kalidas - nice to see him reunited with the Narrator to his Joseph back in 2007/08 - and his smile lit up the ED! Hoping for some meatier storylines in the coming weeks (though it doesn't look like next week will be one of them, judging by his position on the cast list), but very happy to have him back.
Synopsis: Rita finds herself in a quandary when a fire in a care home for the elderly leaves her with access to a terminal patient whose ongoing treatment raises a number of concerns - ones that may not be popular if she opts to raise them with the regular medical staff. Lily treats a man with toothache, but persuading him to acknowledge the real cause of his pain proves to be a difficult task. Elsewhere, Connie questions Zoe's competence during a meeting with CEO Guy Self (guest star John Michie), and Lofty returns to the Emergency Department."
