SERIES 29, EPISODE 43 - THE LONG HAUL
There was no mention of Lofty in the synopsis released ahead of this week's episode, so it was good to see him pop up in the script peek published on the show's Facebook page (below, click for larger version) and the line highlighted was classic Lofty. Dylan overheard, however, which did nothing to ease his increasing torment, which was immensely exacerbated this week by the appearance in the ED of the father he had been estranged from since childhood.
Lee's further involvement in the episode was limited to the ongoing repercussions of his indiscreet comment, while huge credit goes to William Beck (Dylan) for his superb portrayal of a character in crisis.
Synopsis: Following an accident in his truck, Dylan's father Brian is admitted to the Emergency Department. It is clear he and and his son are not on good terms, and Dylan takes out his anger and frustration on Dervla, causing the hound to run away.
Louis steals Tess's crucifix so he can get money for drugs, but Charlie tracks him down and, realising he has developed deep vein thrombosis, takes him to the hospital. Meanwhile, Jacob's romantic side is revealed and Lily lets Ethan go.
Finally, with my ever grateful thanks to the anonymous editor and my apologies to those of the cast who have hit the cutting room floor, here's the 'Meady bits' edit!
