Turns out we saw rather more of Lofty than we ever have before, though not in the way I've been calling for these past several months! Not complaining, mind... a tantalising flashback to Joseph days with waxing and spray tans, but there was also a wonderful subtlety to Lee's acting in his scenes with Dylan which I suspect may be overlooked given the view of his, er... other assets.
But according to next week's trailer, it's birthday suit to suit and tie as things get serious for Lofty... is this a storyline I see before me?
Synopsis: A row is sparked on Olivia's birthday and Jess comes into the Emergency Department with an injury, accompanied by Nikki and Olivia. The scales fall from Jess' eyes and she sees Nikki for who she really is. Nikki isn't ready to let her family go and Dixie has to selflessly jump in to save them from her wrath, but is left feeling bittersweet. Ethan can't believe he missed Olivia's signs of abuse and struggles to forgive himself.
Charlie brings up the subject of genetic testing, but Cal is still in denial. He realises he needs to tell Ethan what he's discovered, but when he witnesses Ethan's own mental crisis he thinks he would only be making things worse. Meanwhile, campaigning for a promotion, Lofty fails to impress Rita and feels he's let himself down.
Finally, there are some rather peachy screencaps for your enjoyment and, with my ever grateful thanks to the anonymous editor and my apologies to those of the cast who have hit the cutting room floor, here's the 'Meady bits' edit!
