S20-E16 : NEW AIN'T ALL IT'S CRACKED UP TO BEAfter a long four-week gap, Lee was back tonight, as was Lofty's Gran, Sheilagh (the delightful Wanda Ventham), whose recovery was a thread running throughout the episode.
With no sign of David Ames, however, on the Dofty front we had to content ourselves with Lofty's reference to "my partner" and any on screen developments will have to wait until next week (which looks like a must see ep!) There was more Lofty than I expected though - and it's good to see more from him than the eternal slow-burn of his relationship with Dom (though I love that too). And I do enjoy him in surgical scrubs - gives his wonderful acting eyebrows their chance to shine!
Synopsis: Frieda forces new trainee Nicky to question what kind of doctor she wants to be. Meena puts her friendship with Nicky on the line when a chance to impress Gaskell arises. Serena tests Xavier's mettle, putting him in charge of Sheilagh's recovery.
