S20-E51 : FAMILY TIESI was very glad to have Lee on our screens consistently in the run up to Christmas - though unfortunately he's missing again from at least the next three eps! But before he goes we had his Christmas jumper to enjoy, and scenes with his gran, Sheilagh Chiltern (played by the wonderful Wanda Ventham), which are always a joy even when her appearance on the wards puts the Dofty honeymoon at risk!
There's a lot of love for Dofty in the Twittersphere, though some disappointed Berena fans are dripping scorn on a relationship that doesn't tick their particular boxes. For me, the writing of Lofty and Dom's relationship has had a far more natural pace than we often see in soapland, which I think Lee and David Ames have captured beautifully in their portrayal of the couple's growing intimacy.
Synopsis: Nicky's ethics are tested when an acquaintance from the past puts her in a difficult position, but with a patient's life at risk will Nicky do the right thing? With a little nudge from Hanssen a struggling Sacha finally opens up to a loved one. Meanwhile, Dom and Lofty's trip doesn't get off to the best start. With Christmas looming, Serena is forced to acknowledge what's really troubling her. Meanwhile, it is Leah's last day at Holby.
