Just a week now until Lee Mead's much-loved character, Nurse Ben 'Lofty' Chiltern, returns to our screens - this time upstairs on Keller Ward in Casualty's sister programme Holby City.
There have been print spoilers aplenty in this week's TV mags (see the Press round-up for details) and the trailer released after last night's episode brings them into wonderfully sharp focus. It's good too to see two old friends reunited with the cross-over appearance from Casualty's Robyn (Amanda Henderson).
As we know (because Lee's still filming!) that he DOES stick around, I'm very intrigued to see what happens, perhaps in the second part of his two-ep return storyline, to change Lofty's mind about staying.
When Lee first joined the cast of Casualty back in March 2014, it took me a few episodes to see Lofty rather than Lee, but I'm happy to find that he's Lofty from the get-go this time round - which is testament to how well Lee has reinhabited the character - and I can't wait to see more!
