S19-E36 : FOR THE LOVE OF MAUREENQuite fittingly the story this week focused mainly on Mo and, to a lesser extent, Mr T as Chizzy Akudolu and Ben Hull played out their final scenes. But there was time for a brief Lofty appearance at the bedside of Ric Griffin's granddaughter as he and Dom tentatively explored their new-found friendship... and again, in more Casualty-typical Lofty mode, at Mo's leaving party!
As Lofty mimed and the rest of the staff all sang special farewell lyrics to Wet Wet Wet's 'Love Is All Around', I recalled Lee's explanation in an interview a wee while back of a similar scene in Casualty - apparently BBC rules don't allow him to sing as it would be 'self-promotion'. How times change. I remember the Beeb positively embracing the singing talents of their resident actors in the past...
Still, back to the present... tonight was the first of three Lofty appearances on our TV screens in just eight days as we now have his Casualty crossover visit for Cal's funeral on Saturday and more from Keller next Tuesday to look forward to.
