BBC Radio 2 Weekend Wogan Live .. 30 October 2011
A very special edition of Sir Terry Wogan's Sunday morning radio show Weekend Wogan was broadcast live from the Savoy Theatre, London on 30 October 2011 in aid of Children in Need.

Lee was one of many special guests who joined Sir Terry for the broadcast, with Lee, Dionne Bromfield, Angela Barnes, Joss Stone, Peter Grant, Katie Melua and Engelbert Humperdinck all performing live on stage, accompanied by the Ronnie Scott's Jazz Orchestra, and Gary Barlow also popping in for a chat.

Much excitement was generated the night before the concert by a tweet from Lee saying he would be performing two songs from his new album, due for release in late January 2012. After a chat with Sir Terry, he first sang 'Falling Slowly', a hauntingly beautiful song which some will know from the film 'Once', accompanied on guitar by Mason Neely, MD for Lee's next tour in February 2012 and producer of the new album. After a few more words with Sir Terry, and backed by the Ronnie Scott's Jazz Orchestra, Lee finished his set with 'Anthem' from the musical 'Chess', a song which proved hugely popular during his last tour and no less so today, and which I am delighted to hear will be included on his album.

The few pictures of Lee from the Getty Images event gallery are embedded here - my hopes for more of him performing proved unfounded.
