And I wasn't disappointed... on the day of his final Up Front & Centre show at The Pheasantry, he joined Gaby for the first hour of her programme, chatting to her and her other guests in the lively and very relaxed atmosphere she generates in her studio.
Accompanied by Steve Holness on piano, he performed two songs that have featured in this year's Pheasantry set - All Of Me and Let Her Down Easy - which he revealed would also be on his new album, Lee Mead - 10 Years, which he is recording this week for release on 23 February 2018. The album, and his 2018 tour, celebrate the decade since he first hit the spotlight winning and playing the title role in the West End revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
As is her way, Gaby also roped Lee and his fellow guests - Tommy Blaize, Sam and Mark, and Matt Richardson - into an impromptu performance of White Christmas in order to officially launch Christmas!
