BBC Radio Tees .. 27 June 2019
Another of the radio interviews Lee recorded last week has reached the airwaves, this time he's chatting to Scott Maken for BBC Tees ahead of the north east dates of his 2019 My Story : A Dream That Became A Reality tour this weekend. Scott joins the growing band of people who talk of Lee as "one of the nicest blokes in showbiz" - Lee is a genuinely lovely guy, but it's commented on so often that I can't help wondering just how much of a rarity he is!

There are two dates in the region - the first more local to BBC Tees, but the second not too far up the coast, and there are tickets (including a Meet & Greet option) available for both:

  • Forum Theatre, Billingham on Friday 28 June
  • Playhouse, Whitley Bay on Saturday 29 June.

  • Much of their chat covered familiar territory - Any Dream Will Do, Joseph, life since, Holby, the tour itself - but it was great also to hear Lee talking so enthusiastically about Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, the play he had co-produced with Chelmsford Theatres which they're hoping to take into the West End at the end of the year and maybe on a UK tour next year. I really hope their plans come to fruition - it deserves a very much wider audience than those who saw it during its brief run in Chelmsford.
