BBC Radio Essex .. 31 October 2019
Lee Mead, BBC Essex With an Essex date to round off Lee Mead's fabulous 2019 My Story tour - Civic Theatre, Chelmsford on Sunday 10 November - it was no great surprise that Lee should pop into BBC Radio Essex for a chat with friend Tony Fisher on his afternoon show. There was however a huge surprise dropped into their chat... more of that later!

Before that, there was much super-relaxed chat about Lee's year - from panto last Christmas in Aberdeen to his upcoming stint in Milton Keynes as Aladdin, and all points in between... Lofty, the tour, his first venture into producing - I was delighted to hear that a tour of Someone Who'll Watch Over Me is still on the cards for next year and that he and the Civic are already talking about their next co-production.

And then there was the big news... which now it's been confirmed and announced officially by Lee, I can include here! Lee is honoured to have been invited by the Royal British Legion to do a reading at the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday 10 November in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen. Unfortunately, the date clashed with the Loughborough My Story show, which is now rescheduled to Saturday 13 June 2020 (ticket holders can re-book or get a full refund).

Finally - if you're wondering about the pic (thanks to Tony Fisher for sharing it), the afternoon show's new coffee machine was the subject of a little, light twitter banter before the show! It's never dull when Lee drops into BBC Essex :)
