BBC Radio Leeds .. 30 March 2026

With Barnum the Musical heading to the Bradford Alhambra next week, Gayle Lofthouse caught up with its star Lee Mead on her morning show for BBC Radio Leeds. They talked all things Barnum ... recently acquired circus skills, its fabulous score, the history of the show, the nature of the man behind the 'Greatest Show on Earth'.

There was also talk of what lies ahead for Lee... it's the 20th anniversary next year of the BBC TV programme Any Dream Will Do which gave him his big break and he plans to celebrate it in style. Think album, tour, even a book... can't wait!

But back to Barnum ... it's in Bradford until 4 April and touring (with Lee) until 4 July, returning in the autumn for some additional dates with Matt Rawle in the title role.
