Lee Mead 'Jack & the Beanstalk' - Southend, Dec 2017/Jan 2018

After months of teasing with panto hints during gigs and interviews, it was finally announced on 17 May that this year Lee has scored a home town gig for Christmas! He will be playing Jack in Southend's Jack & the Beanstalk and will be able to make the most of the short stroll to his home by the sea and enjoy maximum family time over the holiday period.

Stephanie Clift as Princess Apricot

Of course, it's a role Lee has played before, in his very first panto in Southampton back in 2012/13 - it has plenty of scope for his cheeky, comic side and I'm intrigued to see how much his 2017 Jack is influenced by another four years' panto experience! I'm sure he will also be very happy to be reunited with 2013/14 Robin Hood co-star, Bobby Davro, with whom he has remained good friends since.
