At the end of a ridiculously busy weekend - opening the Children in Need show then dashing back to the Adelphi for the Joseph Children In Need benefit performance before returning to perform again later in the evening, then singing on the Strictly results show (recorded post-Joseph on Saturday evening) - Lee received the Caron Keating Award for Outstanding New Talent from the Variety Club on the Sunday evening. The award was presented by theatrical producer and member of the Any Dream Will Do judging panel, Bill Kenwright, who was very generous in his praise of Lee and the way he had come through the numerous rounds of auditions to take the ultimate prize, the role of Joseph.
Before receiving his award, Lee had to sing for his supper - Any Dream Will Do of course - to an audience of his peers, and his Mum and Dad who were his guests for the evening! Lee's acceptance speech (or all we got to see of it, anyway) was the very epitome of brevity but no less heartfelt for that... "thank you very much".
Below is edited footage showing Lee's arrival, the presentation of his award and his performance there are also a few
screencaps...
