With thanks to Lee for the heads-up on his socials, it felt somehow fitting to see him on the tellybox this evening, 19 years to the day after he won TV casting show Any Dream Will Do and his first lead role in a musical. This time he was chatting to Caroline Whitmore from Granada Reports about his latest star turn... the eponymous P T Barnum in Barnum the Circus Musical which opens at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool tonight.
As they talk, the show's trailer offers an enticing glimpse behind the curtain to the dazzling colour and irrepressible energy of this amazing show, while footage of Lee's tightrope training show just how much preparation has gone into what he has oft referred to as 'the most challenging role' he's ever played.
