Lee first spoke of an autumn tour after his guest appearance at Dreamcoat Stars in Chelmsford back in March and I've been eagerly awaiting the dates ever since. Lee was deep into rehearsals and promo for We Will Rock You at the London Coliseum, with opening night just over two weeks away, when the first date of what looks like being an 8 date tour dropped on Twitter.Giving us not only a date, but the name of the tour, was Watford Palace Theatre, announcing that tickets for Lee Mead : The Best of Me were available to their 'Palace Pals'. I was initially a little surprised Lee is not venturing further north on this occasion but a tweet from the man himself this morning (26 May) gives news on that score: "Unfortunately I could only do limited dates due to other commitments at this time but we are looking at Scottish and Northern dates for the start of next year."
Meanwhile, the blurb tells us: "the concert promises to be a sensational musical experience, with Mead taking centre stage alongside his live band to perform a repertoire that spans various genres from his musical influences, including musical theatre classics, contemporary hits, soulful ballads and a sneak peek at his brand-new EP. Audiences can expect an evening of extraordinary vocal performances infused with Mead's witty charm and heartfelt emotion."
While Lee, thrilled to announce his October tour, says "I am excited to journey back through some of my musical influences and it's a chance for me to connect and share with my fans my passion for music and live entertainment. We have put together an exciting setlist that I hope will resonate with audiences and be a fun night out for all." He certainly looks happy about it as he shares the news in this lovely little video on his socials.
